dark lady painters + bright action dude painters

Lately I've been into painting that tends towards illustration and illustration that is very analog/arty. It's interesting how most of the female artists I like tend to make dark, moody, figure/portrait-heavy work while the male artist/illustrators who appeal to me are relatively light-hearted, using neon palettes and action packed subject matter

If you skip to the bottom you will why Britt Spencer fascinates me. He paints in the style of comic-book cartoon complete with painted-in ben day dots. His paintings look like prints. And he's begun to screenprint them, which makes perfect sense, but seems sort of the reverse order of things. Anyway, his work transitions seamlessly from digital illustration to painting and back. And I like that.
